Whose life is worthy?

How are you coping with your world right now?  Are you feeling connected and safe?  Are you in the transition from summer to fall schedules while grappling with the state of the world?

Here, we are in the middle of what's turned into a 3 part series.  Last week we explored what the George Floyd statues represent to each of us, in which I suggested that they represent more than an individual - they represent a movement.  (If you missed part 1, you can catch it HERE).

This week, we explore the next level - At what point is someone forgiven, redeemed, rehabilitated, or in any way deemed a whole person again, worthy of being honored?

There are clearly no easy answers to this question - and as a society we are clearly struggling with even engaging these deep conversations in meaningful and actionable ways.

What are your feelings? At what point does someone (George Floyd or otherwise?) move again to being a whole person worth honoring?

Please reply and share.

Next week you'll receive part 3 - Can you guess what it is? 😉

I also want to acknowledge the immense suffering and trauma of our Afghanistan neighbors. There is incredible work being coordinated to rescue some whose lives are in peril. Reflecting back on my time working closely with refugees in Houston, I know that their initial rescue is an early step in a long (LONG) process and my heart aches for those who are in the process of finding out where their lives will continue as well as those who are not yet safe and living in constant terror.

Please send out love to them in whatever way you see fit, and if you want specific ways to offer support, this article lists some specific organizations.

You matter. You can make a difference. I'm so thankful you're here.
