Self-Compassion: The Catalyst to Greater Social Impact

Many socially conscious leaders within communities, organizations, and educational institutions struggle to make a positive impact for the people they serve without sacrificing their wellbeing in the process. Drained from the events and tensions of the current times, these dedicated leaders too often push past the warning signs of compassion fatigue and burnout in an effort to support those whose needs seem more urgent than their own.

In her signature presentation, Dr. Rebecca Eldredge shows these professionals the necessity of caring for themselves and how destigmatizing self-compassion is integral to sustainable and effective changemaking efforts.

By the end of the presentation, audience members will be able to…

  • Identify key areas of overwhelm and how they contribute to burnout

  • Explore cultural, generational, and industry-specific causes of compassion fatigue

  • Embed compassion for themselves and others into their communication and work

  • Use emotions as a compass toward better physical and mental health, connection and change making

Dr. Rebecca Eldredge is a skilled psychologist who has dedicated her career to issues related to social justice. Dr. Eldredge has a wonderful style that allows individuals to feel safe, seen and heard. These qualities, combined with her thoughtful and intuitive style, are the true formula for healing and restoration. She is the ideal facilitator or speaker for organizations that seek to authentically address necessary, yet often complex (and difficult) conversations about fairness and equity in our society while simultaneously supporting the wellbeing of the people who do this important work.
