a pause from the hustle and grind 🫣
In this very moment, you are creating the future.
Seem extreme? Melodramatic, perhaps? 🤔
Maybe so. Yet, in this moment, whatever you are doing (or not doing), whatever you are communicating (or not communicating), however you are taking care of yourself (or not taking care of yourself) will have direct impact on your next moment, which then impacts the one after that, and the next, and on and on...
With that in mind, what if you pause right now for a truly deep breath - the deepest breath you've taken all day - and savor the fullest extent of your inhale and slow exhale?
Go ahead, take a few. I'll wait. 😉
How did it feel to actually pause and truly notice your breath? 💖
What did it cost you? What did you gain?
If you're anything like me, your focus and thoughts become more clear, your problem-solving sharper, and your interactions more kind and thoughtful when your emotions, mind, and body are cared for.
If you expand this concept of creating the future in each moment into your relationships and interactions, you can quickly recognize how much each moment has the potential to directly impact loved ones, neighbors, co-workers, and strangers.
How often do you consider what you need as a part of your moment, your day, or your week?
Where does that fit in with the many professional demands, volunteer roles, family commitments, and social engagements?
It can be so easy to miss out on your greatest impact by pushing, hustling, and grinding away to get the next thing done or meet the next person's need.
How well does that rush lend itself to the future you want to create?
My advice for you is this:
Creating a future you want to live in stems directly from creating a present moment that honors your needs. Then, you can shine your most brilliant, compassionate self onto the world around you.
You matter. You can make a difference. I'm so thankful you're here.
