Build a nest

Earlier this spring, a robin carried piece after piece (grass, trig, string, etc) to the crook of a branch in the tree outside my kitchen window.  Each time she set it down on the branch, it slipped back down to the ground.  Each time, she'd fly again, disappear briefly, and then be back again with the next attempt.

What a process!  How does a bird learn to build a nest?  Especially the first time?  No other bird was there to teach, assist, or support.  No other bird helped to hold a few pieces in place while she brought back others.  She was on her own.

Do you ever feel that way?  Through the past year+, so many people have been feeling increasingly isolated, like the skills and tools they knew before just don't work as well.  Meanwhile the stresses and emotional burdens are heavy.

How do you build your nest?

Where do you go when you need safety, comfort, and coziness?

What are the tools and strategies you use, and how do you learn them?

You matter.  You can make a difference.  I'm so thankful you're here.
